With the coming general election, the public will have the opportunity to elect Library District trustees from six districts.
Petitions from interested candidates from these six districts are now solicited:
2nd District: Big Flats (1/1/2026 to 12/31/2027)
3rd District: Town/Village of Horseheads (1/1/2026 to 12/31/2028)
4th District: Horseheads/Big Flats (1/1/2026 to 12/31/2028)
8th District: Village of Elmira Heights (1/1/2026 to 12/31/2028)
9th District: City/Town of Elmira (1/1/2026 to 12/31/2028)
12th District: City of Elmira/Southport (1/1/2026 to 12/31/2027)
13th District: City of Elmira/Southport (1/1/2026 to 12/31/2028)
Nominating petitions can be downloaded here and are available at the Steele Memorial library's business office.
Petitions and are due on Friday Sept.12th, 2025.
