Register in advance for this off-site program.

Join us on Saturday, August 2, at 9:00 AM to help fulfill photo requests at the Old Second Street Cemetery in Elmira, NY, for Find a Grave. Together, we’ll locate and photograph headstones for upload to this free online database that helps connect people with their ancestors.

What You’ll Need:

  • A smartphone with mobile data
  • The Find a Grave app installed
  • A free Find a Grave account (please create one ahead of time)

Meeting Location:
We’ll meet at Old Second Street Cemetery, on the corner of W. Second Street and College Avenue, Elmira, NY, at 9:00 AM.

Please Note:

  • There are no restroom facilities at the site.
  • Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes; the ground may be uneven and grassy.
  • Bring your own water bottle. Some light snacks will be available.
  • Accessibility note: This cemetery is not wheelchair accessible and may be challenging for individuals with limited mobility due to uneven terrain and lack of paved paths.

Waiver Required:
All participants must sign a liability waiver before taking part in the program. Waivers will be available on site, or you may request a copy in advance by contacting Maggie at 607-733-9173 x2318 or emailing youngm@stls.org.
