Purpose of Reservation
The Elmira Police Department, in partnership with the NYS Office of Gun Violence Prevention (OGVP) and the NYS GIVE Initiative, will be distributing free gun locks and safe firearm storage information to community members.
Distribution of gun locks is completely anonymous. GIVE investigators will also be on site to speak with community members, answer questions, and provide information about the GIVE program and safe firearm storage practices.
Join us at the Steele Memorial Library on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Gun locks will be available while supplies last. No registration is required.
